Thu vừa về trước
cửa
Gió xôn xao mừng
gọi lá thu vàng
Rạt rào thổi vui
mừng khấp khởi
Vàng, vàng rơi! Lá
gọi, chơi vơi
Khoan, gió, gió ơi,
chầm châm
Tội cho lá vừa
ươm màu vàng thắm
Sao vội rung cành
Để lá bay, rụng, tả tơi!

The Arrival of Autumn
Ah, Autumn!
Autumn has arrived at the door’s step
Can you also hear the
rustles of its joyous wind
It swept thru the leaves and branches fast
Falling, falling, the autumn leaves:
Gold, yellow and a
tin of red
Oh, please hold it back
oh! mighty wind! and
cease the rush!
Let us leaves hold on a little longer
while the happiness
of a new Fall lasts
Spare and not to… pluck us leaves so fast! L
